Why the Millennium Wood Celebration Matters

As part of the Millennium Wood celebrations, families will be able to reconnect with their Millennium Wood trees, with volunteers on hand to help locate legacy plantings.

While this is a special opportunity for tree donors, the weekend is open to all visitors who wish to celebrate Eastwoodhill and its rich history.

Planted between 1999–2000 to mark the new millennium, the Eastwoodhill Millennium Wood features 1,000 trees dedicated to donors, creating a lasting legacy for families and the community.

Today, 25 years later, it’s a beautiful woodland of flowering trees and conifers, offering a scenic space to walk, picnic, and connect with Eastwoodhill’s living history and we are celebrating a quarter of a century legacy!

Celebrate 25 years of growth and support the future of New Zealand’s National Arboretum.
